Fun Friday: Tropicanoe Cove

Since today was technically our last Fun Friday of the summer, we did something as a family! The original plan was to go to the Legoland Discovery Center in Schaumburg Illinois, but we just couldn't do it. I didn't plan well enough and Craig started working 2nd shift on Monday.

It was a good thing the kids didn't know about the plan because they would never have forgiven us for not taking them. Things worked out though. They've been wanting to go to Tropicanoe Cove and were especially excited to get to go with their dad!

We thought Logan would be all over the water slides when he found out he was tall enough to go on them, but No. The pipes and fountains on the kid side of the pool were the favorite place to be. Craig coaxed Logan to get him to venture into deeper water, and he did, but not for long. Maybe because the water was so cold. (Can you say shiver?) I didn't want to go deeper either! Bergen can never get enough of the water and enjoyed splashing around and going down the dolphin slide. Of course Craig and I had fun watching them both.

Neither of the kids have been fans of the lazy river in the past, but today they l-o-v-e-d it! I don't know how many times we went around! Next year I'll get pictures of that.

Finally, although it wasn't my favorite, Logan and Bergen played in the sand area. And that's where they were when Craig left to go home and get ready for work. A quick goodbye and he was off. We were to see him go, but we did stay and play a little longer before heading home ourselves. Those silly kids had to get back in the water to get all the sand off!

It goes without saying that we stopped at redbox on the way home... Another Friday, another movie. Logan and Bergen were excited to watch it, but I wasn't surprised when they were both asleep before the end. Ahhhh - you know it's been a good day when you're worn out at the end of it!

We had fun in the sun today and can't wait to do it all again next summer!

How fun! There's a little water park next to my mom's that's a little better than trop cove. They have a slide set like a normal park with stairs and a tube slide and tons of shooting water everywhere--but no lazy river. Zach loved it all and Eli really got into it. Then Eli saw the big slides and he was off running to climb the several flights of stairs. He was so mad at me that he couldn't go down the big slides, and wouldn't stay in the water, that we finally had to go home after only 45 minutes. Oh well. It was only $5 for all three of us.
