We Have a Winner

Logan was SO excited when he came home from school today.  He ran in the house and couldn't wait to tell me that his name had been drawn in a raffle!

Apparently there was a raffle for all of the students who had completed their A/R logs for a certain amount of time.  (A/R being Accelerated Reading.)  Logan's teacher sends the A/R logs home every Monday.  Logan has to write about what he's read and then a parent has to comment.  Sometimes it's Tuesday morning before Logan has written in his, but at least he gets it done.

Anyway, I guess the principal has raffles every once in a while and today was Logan's lucky day.  His ticket was drawn and he chose a $20. Sam's Club gift card; which he made sure to tell me was usable at Sam's or Wal*mart.

Well, of course we had to run right over to Wal*mart so he could use it.  He bought Star Wars Lego's.  Can you say "Heaven?"  he opened them in the car on the way home, and hasn't stopped talking about them yet!

It sure makes this mom happy to see her boy happy.  And over something so unexpected.
