Logan chose a fire truck theme for his birthday this year. It was a fun one to plan and the more we talked about it the more excited he got! We ended up with a weeks' worth of celebrations when all was said and done, and enjoyed (almost) every single minute! We starting by having family over for cake and ice cream the Sunday before, and ended with a "friend" party the Saturday after the big day.
I had fun making the cake and Logan was a big helper when decorating it. Of course eating it was the best part of all! Mmmmmmmmm red food coloring!
Cake and ice cream are always a hit with our family! And cousins to play with are an added bonus. Happy birthday to you too Kate!! And thanks everyone for your coming to our house.
On Tuesday Logan got to take birthday treats to preschool and have the birthday song sung to him. He thought the birthday cake crown he got was pretty cool and counted the numbers on it several times. I thought "Yeah, no more red frosting at our house!"
As a special treat on Friday, Logan got to go to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and watch "Indy 500" practice with his dad and grandpa. Lucky kid.
More fun on Friday included the Father/Son camp out our church has every year. (Sorry no pictures. Daddy didn't get the camera out.)
On Saturday the birthday party began with a trip to the fire station where firemen Ted, Chad and Tom showed us around and told us all how things are done. It was really cool! There was also some training going on that day so we got to see a big truck at work spraying water!
Can you believe that when a call comes in the firemen can be out of the station in ONE minute? I wish I could get out of the house that fast!
After our visit to the fire station it was back to our house for some outdoor games and cupcakes. Logan sure had fun playing with his friends. We're glad all of you could come and party with us! Thank you!

It's truly amazing to me how quickly these kids are growing up. Time sure does fly by.
We loved the fireman birthday party. I have been stepping on little red firemen ever since. (A sure sign of them being played with and loved!) Thanks for inviting us!

Looks like a fun party. Can you believe they are four! It seems like only weeks ago we were partying in the hospital together!
